Memorial Cross - Sewanee, Tennessee

The iconic memorial cross on the campus of Sewanee University, the University of the South is a beautiful reminder of the sacrifices made for our freedoms. The 60-foot tall structure was constructed in 1922 and features plaques honoring the service members of the university and Franklin County who served in WWI, WWII, Korea, Vietnam and the Gulf War.

The area surrounding the cross is a great place to spend time in prayer, meditate or have a picnic. It's a short drive off of Interstate 24 through the campus on Tennessee Avenue.
